Pathways Awareness is trusted by over 2 million parents and medical professionals around the world. Here is what they have to say about our organization and about early intervention and therapy:
Professionals
“You continue to do an excellent job! The addition of speech and play development is an asset. Also, I’m sure the boxes to check (on the brochure) will prove helpful to parents.” --Valerie Willis, RN, California
“I distribute Pathways' brochure to mothers or mothers to be in an out-patient clinic in Senegal. I also distribute to doctors in Armenia. It certainly increases the awareness of parents.” --Jadwiga Urbanski, physiotherapist, Canada
“I teach pediatric physical therapy in an entry-level physical therapy program and use your videotape and brochure as a way to teach what to look for in early development that might indicate a problem.” --Physical Therapist, University of Evansville
“I hand out Pathways' brochure to parents of children who are born premature. Great new look--love the section on Important Parent Ideas.” --Family Support official, California
“Parents are accurate observers of their child's development. Primary care physicians should take parents' concerns seriously. Closely monitoring the child's development and prompt referral for evaluation and early intervention services can save valuable time, allowing every child to reach their maximum potential.” --Dr. H. Garry Gardner, DuPage Pediatrics, Illinois
“Children will always find a way to move their bodies and explore in their environment. The earlier we can intervene to alter their movements and facilitate better ways to move about their environment, the better. We’re working to reinforce the patterns that are going to be more beneficial to their goals.” --Gay Girolami, Executive Director–Pathways Center, Glenview, Illinois

Parents
"Thank you so much for your help last week. I am absolutely thrilled with the info I received from you. I have been trying to get my two year old son into speech therapy since February. . . . I called Pathways' main number and left a message May 17 and got a call back that same morning. I was given two names and numbers of places close to my home. By the end of the day I had set up an evaluation for my son and had an order from his pediatrician that afternoon as well. Very cool! Thank you... We look forward to our son's progress and are so thankful for your initiative and follow through." --Susan, mother from South Elgin, IL, May 2007
A mother from North Carolina emailed us about her son's undiagnosed muscle weakness and hypotonia. Our parent representative talked with her about the benefits of therapy and answered questions about orthotics, as well as provided her with the names of physical therapists in her area. She said she felt "encouraged" after speaking with someone from Pathways. --July 2006
A mother from Mexico emailed Pathways in Spanish with concerns about her eight-month-old son, referring to our brochure, which we have available in Spanish. We provided her with the names of two NDT therapists in Mexico who could evaluate her son. Shortly thereafter, one of the therapists contacted us to thank us and let us know she had been able to locate them and make an appointment. --June 2006
A mom from Oregon called our parent-answered phone number looking for resources in her area for her daughter, who has early motor delays. Our staff contacted resources in her area and sent this mom materials on how to continue to track her daughter’s development. She said she was very glad to have spoken to someone who had first hand experience. --March 2006
