Addressing Wait & See

While physicians have the best interests of children and their parents in mind, they may hesitate to intervene when they are not yet overly concerned themselves. Parents often leave the doctor's office with a false sense of security about their child's growth.

To validate your concerns, print out our month-by-month pages and check the signs you see in your baby. For a complete brochure with month-by-month pages, please contact us at 1-800-955-2445 or email us at friends@pathwaysawareness.org.

It may help to keep a detailed log of the concerning behaviors your child exhibits. Early physical, occupational, and speech therapy can dramatically improve a child's development.

Early therapy can also prevent other issues, such as feeding problems or body movements that might get in the way of your baby's development. Federal law gives your baby the right to receive Early Intervention services for developmental delays free of charge, until the baby reaches three years of age.

Participating in an Early Intervention program may help you understand how to best help your child and know that you are doing everything possible to assure the best for your baby.

DO NOT "WAIT AND SEE." EARLY DETECTION IS THE BEST PREVENTION!
