Aquatic therapy is used to improve muscle function through the application of water exercises similar to those used in speech, physical and occupational therapy. These therapies use the water’s natural resistance and buoyancy to provide support, relax muscles, reduce swelling and improve strength and flexibility.
Aquatic therapy is a fun way for kids to improve their muscle strength! Typically, an aquatic therapist will work one-on-one with a child to perform exercises in the water. The therapy helps to improve muscle control and balance while increasing range of motion, strength and endurance.
